Launch production of Break-Thru Dance Company.

Break-Thru Dance Company (BTDC) is a newly-founded dance company in Durban. Arguably South Africa’s first fusion dance company, it consists of Durban’s top talent united under one organisation, creating a kaleidoscope of powerful, energetic dance forms from around South Africa, fused together to produce “The Big-Bang” in dance.

Break-Thru Dance Company is a sporty, energetic Dance Company which represents all dance forms from the technical balletic training to the streets of krumping, hip-hop and break-dance.

This November, BTDC offers dance and entertainment lovers Under Construction, featuring South Africa’s No.1 beat-boxer, Drumkit, and internationally acclaimed lead dancer, Taryn Makaab.

“We have stretched all dance forms to the maximum,” say the organisers, “and through intense workshopping have produced works on an international level of excellence! We have picked the top dancers from each dance form and have extended their abilities (from ballet girls partnering hip-hop dancers to challenges between vocal beat-boxing and tap-dance beats).
