2009 Annual Bellyfusion Showcase to take place on December 10 and 11.
The 2009 BellyFusion Showcase takes to the Westville Civic stage on December 10 and 11 and promises an eclectic mix of contemporary dance styles fused with the intrigues of belly dancing. This is BellyFusion’s 8th Show and funds raised from this annual event have benefited organisations such as Childline, Ekaya Labomi Aids Hospice, Bobbi Bears, Open Door Crisis Centre and Faith’s Paradise.
One of the first belly dance teachers in Durban, Alison McLean started BellyFusion some eight years ago. Her studio currently has over 60 dancers of all ages. She also trains and manages a performance group of eight professional dancers who have danced at many high profile functions over the years. This show brings together both her amateur and professional dancers performing vibrant dance styles such as Spanish Fusion, hip hop fusion, tribal fusion, cabaret fusion and Bollywood, with the added bonus of fire dancers!
On December 10 and 11, doors open at 19h00 at the Westville Civic Centre and the show starts at 19h30. Tickets R60 (R40 children) available at the door or contact Alison on 082 824 0908.
