Santa’s Southern Celebration at uShaka Marine World from December 16 to 19.
This year’s annual Dolphins by Starlight promises to be the highlight of uShaka Marine World's event calendar! Mr and Mrs Santa have invited a host of fairies, angels, stars and sleek sea creatures to join them at their uShaka Marine World base from December 16 to 19 as they celebrate the magic of Christmas.
Lovable theatre personality Jimmy Lithgow, last seen in Durban in the stage show Wit, as Santa Claus leads the cast of stars including renowned London-based baritone lyric Njabulo Madlala and Samantha Peo who played Roxy in the hit stage musical Chicago as well as in the recent Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Aspects of Love. Also on the star-studded bill is Durban based Pume Zondi, well-known throughout Durban for her roles in Little Shop of Horrors and last year’s Christmas production of Unforgettable at the Playhouse.
The human Christmas tree, consisting of a 36 piece choir and ensemble will be under the baton of Jeff Judge and his 20-strong orchestra. Centre stage, of course, will go to Seaworld’s talented dolphins and other animals, who promise to add their special splash to the family show.
Produced by Wayne Scott and directed by Charon Williams-Ros, Dolphins by Starlight includes festive songs such as Christmas Angels, Anthem for Christmas, Emmanuel, All I Want for Christmas is You and a host of all-time favourite Christmas carols.
The show runs from December 16 to 19 at 18h30 for 19h00. Tickets R95 (R75 for children under 12) available at Computicket or uShaka Marine World. For more information, contact 031 328 8000.
