GLENWOOD CHRISTMAS CAROLS

Glenwood Community Forum presents their annual Christmas Carol Service in the Park on December 5.

The annual Christmas Carol Service presented by the Glenwood Community Forum will take place in the Bulwer Park on December 5 as the sun sets. The proactive Glenwood Community Forum believes this bustling suburb is a “good place to live, work, educate and raise a family”. To this end, they will host a special carol service featuring members from the schools and churches within the Glenwood Community. It is anticipated that the programme will feature children from the Open Air School, Penzance Primary School, St Henry’s Marist Brothers College, Glenwood Community Pre-School and Glenwood Prep School; musicians from the Salvation Army; church leaders from many of the churches in the vicinity, and community leaders.

The interdenominational carol service will include nativity readings, poems, and choir solos. There is also plenty of audience participation to sing familiar and well-loved Christmas carols. A special collection will be taken during the service for J Smith Centre which cares for the elderly in the Glenwood area. The Salvation Army will be selling candles.

The Carol Service takes place in Glenwood High School Hall (a change from the earlier venue of Bulwer Park) on December 5 from18h00 until 19h30. Entry is free and all are welcome. For more information about the Glenwood Community Forum visit www.forum.glenwood.co.za
