PETER PAN

Ambitious full-scale musical version of much-loved children’s tale for KickstArt.

The multi-award winning KickstArt offers its end of the year Festive Season production - not as a pantomime this year but as an ambitious full-scale musical version of Peter Pan!

Directed by Steven Stead (who was the first male actor to play Peter in South Africa in 1992) and designed by Greg King, this show will be a feast for eye and ear, and promises sumptuous sets and dazzling special effects; a feast for the whole family.

The cast is headed by two times 2009 Durban Theatre Award-winner, Bryan Hiles as Peter Pan the boy who wouldn’t grow up, with Darren King as his villainous nemesis, Captain Hook, and Frances Currie as his winsome companion, Wendy. Others in the cast are Shelley Maclean as a sweet-voiced Mrs Darling, Peter Court as a bumbling, loveable Smee, Marc Kay as Gentleman Starkey and Elisha Mudley as a feisty Tiger Lily.

Book and lyrics are by Steven Stead with music by Justin Southey and orchestrations by Evan Roberts with Shelley McLean as vocal director. Costumes are by Neil Stuart Harris and choreography is by Janine Bennewith.

Peter Pan - runs at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from December 9 to January 9 with one day-time performance on the last week of school on December 10 at 11h00. Tickets R120 (R90 children, pensioners and students) booked through Computicket for all these productions, and for more information visit KickstArt’s website at www.kickstart-theatre.co.za.

There will be a gala performance on New Year’s Eve at 21h30, Tickets R200 (R150 children) include a glass of champagne and party with the cast afterwards.
