The production features a celebration of Sussie’s biggest hits! Sussie has been sour; she has unravelled; she has survived and her life is a circus. Five years down the line she is stronger than ever! Cheers! Sussie is drinking a toast to all and sundry. She implores us to raise our glasses to the past and the future, our families, our friends, money, growth, yoga, wheelchairs, ageing, Bulgarian yogurt, coloured sport, making a fool of yourself and laughing out loud.
Comedian Marion Holm has selected the best of her previous five Sussies, given them a good dusting down, and dollied them up for the viewing enjoyment of local audiences. But beware... this is not just a rehash of past bygones ... something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue ... Marion Holm appeals to the heart in everyone; the ability to laugh at ourselves and others with kindness and understanding.
Sussie: Cheers! was once again amongst the five best sellers at the ABSA KKNK 2009 and was sold out two weeks prior to the Volksbladfestival 2009.
