A zesty invitation to collide with creativity with 15 second TV commercial.
Do you have a creative mind and want to see your advert on TV? If the answer’s yes, here’s your chance to shine at the Loeries by completing a Doritos 15 second TV commercial.
So says Doritos, which has an exciting snack concept called Collisions, whereby two mouthwatering flavours are combined in one packet. The two Collisions flavours currently on the shelves are Buffalo Wings & Cheesy Nachos, and Grilled Steak & Creamy Chilli.
To celebrate these zesty taste sensations, Doritos is inviting up-and-coming film and video students – and anyone else who has a flair for advertising and design – to complete an advertisement that aptly illustrates this lip-smacking “half-and-half” burst of flavour. Entrants have a choice of four 15-second themed Doritos Collisions ad intros to choose from: The House Party, Peeping Tina, Double Vision and an Anything Goes generic option, which will be available to view and download on www.15seconds.co.za
All you have to do is select the option that you wish to complete, and produce an innovative 15-second ending that is punchy, clever and sums up the fun and funky dual nature of Doritos Collisions. It can be filmed or animated – using 3D video effects or stock animation. Upload your entry to the website and then set about making use of all the social media tools at your disposal – Facebook, Twitter, blogging and so on – to promote your video clip.
Members of the public who register on the website will have the opportunity to rate the entries, share them and comment on them – and potentially score their share of a cool R20,00 in the daily draws. From April 19 to May 24, a daily random draw will take place with each day’s winner receiving R500. Bonus draws will take place every Friday from April 23 to May 21.
Five judges drawn from the ranks of television commercial directors and marketing experts will assess the video entries in each category, with pre-judging taking place from May 25 to 28 and final judging of the semi-finalists on May 31. The four winners announced on June 4 will each receive R50,000 in cash.
In addition, the best student entry in each category will be entered into the Loeries Student Award categories for television and cinema, and motion graphic design – which could prove an invaluable kickstart to a career in the advertising or film industry. Even those who are not studying film and video have a chance to have their creative expression rewarded: the best entry by a non-student in each of the categories will also be entered into the Loeries, in the non-broadcast video category.
The closing date for video entries is May 24, 2010, so grab a bag of Doritos, get munching and start brainstorming a killer ad concept – those 15 crucial seconds could change your life! Visit www.15seconds.co.za or www.15seconds.mobi for more details.
