Drakensberg Boys’ Choir present a celebration of choral music in Pietermaritzburg.
Imagine the glorious sound of over 120 youthful voices joining in a celebration of choral music! On June 6, the acclaimed Drakensberg Boys’ Choir will take to the Pietermaritzburg City Hall stage along with the PMB Children’s Choir and the PMB & Midlands Youth Choir for a concert of beloved and popular choral works.
A Choral Celebration will appeal to all tastes and boasts a programme that includes Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Think of Me and the Song for World Peace, along with traditional Zulu and Afrikaans items. On the podium is conductor Patrick Harty and Jacques Heyns is the accompanist.
Currently on tour in Korea, the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir is renowned the world over for their performance excellence. The PMB & Midlands Youth Choir draws its members from schools in the PMB area and recently undertook a successful tour of Argentina. The PMB Children’s Choir has been in existence for over 20 years and continues to provide the youth of Pietermaritzburg with a platform for musical expression and enjoyment.
