The Playhouse Company’s monthly Test Driving the Arts development initiative runs in the Playhouse Grand Foyer until December. These lunch-hour programmes offer a free platform for aspiring groups wanting to make the leap from the amateur to professional performance circuits, in Pantsula, Hip Hop, Gospel, Isicathamiya, Afro Jazz, Township Maskandi, Isigekle and other contemporary music and dance styles. The popular monthly events offer audiences an enjoyable way of spending a lunch hour, while affording valuable talent-spotting opportunities for event organisers looking for fresh new artists to enrol.
This month’s programme takes place on May 11 from 13h00 to 14h00. Featured groups are Amazing Grace (Gospel) and Gadla ne Sangena (Maskandi). Admission is free and all are welcome.
