Gallery 415 to host solo exhibition during World Cup.
On show at Gallery 415 for the duration of the World Cup is Test Patterns, a solo exhibition by Bronwen Vaughan-Evans. In a departure from her customary style, she will exhibit smaller format, experimental pieces. She will also coordinate a small retail area selling exclusive works by a select group of quality artists.
Bronwen Vaughan-Evans received her Masters of Arts in Fine Arts in 1995 from the (then) University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg. She obtained her Higher Diploma in Education in 1998 from the University of South Africa. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, presenting her first solo show entitled one zero one in 2004 at the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts (KZNSA) Gallery in Durban.
She went on to collaborate with Nontobeko Ntombela on a project entitled negotiated spaces also held at the KZNSA. In June 2008, her solo show, home is where the heart is was held at Gallery Momo in Johannesburg and later that same year, her most recent work, collectively entitled Memento Mori was exhibited at Bank Gallery, Durban.
“Bronwen's work is highly sought after by critics and collectors alike,” says a Gallery 415 representative, “and any venture she has a hand in is sure to generate great interest. Bronwen is one of Durban's great artists and we are extremely proud to be showcasing her during the WC.”
Test Patterns runs from June 10 to July 10 at Gallery 415, 415 Umgeni Road, Durban. For more information, contact 031 309 6401 or visit www.gallery415.co.za
