(Pic: This photograph of a diver was taken in XaiXai, Mozambique)

Interactive installation curated by Guy Lagesse, Peter MacKenzie, Doung Anwar at Durban Art Gallery.

Three innovative artists have been kicking a ball across the African continent from South Africa to France. They took with them digital cameras, printers and video equipment and in each venue they established a makeshift movie house so that residents could create and exhibit work done in collaboration with the artists.

The final event is Footsak: On the ball 2010, the exhibition currently running at the Durban Art Gallery which will show documentation of the trip which commenced in June 2009 in Marseille. This will include movie clips, artworks, "art" soccer balls and installations. The trio is made up of French-based artist, Guy Lagesse (who has exhibited frequently in South Africa), Doung Anwar Jahangeer (art/architecture/activist and part of the Dala group) and Peter McKenzie of the Johannesburg-based photographers collective, Twasa.

Footsak: On the ball 2010 runs at the Durban Art Gallery until mid August. The gallery is situated on the second floor of the Durban City Hall, entrance in Smith Street opposite the Playhouse. For more information visit www.footsak.com
