Durban-based hip-hop non-profit initiative holds Open mic for development.

Life Check Youth Development Initiative, a Durban-based hip-hop non-profit, goes on the road this year to take its popular open-mic event to areas outside of the Durban metro. With support from Pro Helvetia Cape Town, through its mandate from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Life Check will expand into areas such as Kwadukuza and Groutville, creating spaces for young people to express themselves through hip-hop culture and related performance styles.
