KZN artist hosts Open Weekend on June 5 and 6.
KZN artist Marjorie Jones is hosting an Open Weekend on June 5 Saturday (11h00 until 18h00), with the official opening taking place at 12h00 , followed by a drumming session at 15h00. The following day, June 6, hours are 11h00 until 17h00.
Marjorie has been busy creating a fresh and vibrant range of artworks that will be on display at this year’s festive season Open Weekend. Her artistic essence, is clearly revealed in her latest ceramic collection. This medium was the starting point of Marjorie’s artistic career. Showcased will be her hand-carved ceramic wall reliefs and ceramic masks and sculpture as well as mixed medium works on canvas.
Other artists taking part are Keith Roderick with his funky sculpture as well as his sculpted furniture under the title, Amatornado Tables”. Tanza Crouch will offer ento ceramics. Also present will be the Hillcrest Aids Centre and astrologist Dion Van Zyl will be doing readings and birth charts
Credit cards are welcome and parking is available. Family and friends are welcome and vegetarian food will be on sale.
Directions: From Durban travel along N3, take M13 turning (Pinetown/Pietermaritzburg), all the way up Fields Hill towards M13 Gillitts , take the No. 28 off-ramp (Old Main Road/Hillcrest) at intersection turn right towards Hillcrest, over bridge, second left into St Helier Road. Turn left under bridge opposite St Helier Dam and follow the road to the top of St Helier Road.
