NAF: LITTLE POOF

Bruce J Little’s portrayal of several camp and other not-so-camp tongue in cheek characters offers a delightful showcase for his talent. Something he is truly blessed with. From the Chlora to the Hilda puppet – he mesmerizes his audiences with his vocal abilities.

One can easily label the characters as stereotypes in gay life. Certainly the kind of characters one finds in the fickle and vain gay club environments all over. Little, however, succeeded in bringing a deeper dimension to the characters and gives insight into the harsh realities of the sub-culture. Then again, can it still be referred to as a sub-culture? In Little’s youthful approach to gay life it certainly can.

Catherine Hopkins’ accompaniment on the piano is effective. Little Poof or, to give it its full title - Little Poof! A Homofabulous Show - is highly entertaining and incorporates stand-up, story-telling, cabaret and live music. - Thomie Holtzhausen
