SALLY SUNSHINE'S MOST AMAZING SUITCASE

(Sarah Hawthorn as Sally Sunshine)

Sally Sunshine's Most Amazing Suitcase is a new play for children from the well-known Actors Co-Operative. It will be presented during the 2010 July holidays in the Durban Botanic Gardens.

The play features Sarah Hawthorn and is written by Cape Town actress Candace Walt and Actors Co-Operative founder and director, Garth Anderson, who also directs the production.

Sally Sunshine enjoys telling stories that have meaning and significance for children, and in this production, she tells the tales The Tortoise and The Hare, The Princess and The Pea and The Ugly Duckling.

The play is specially presented for first-time theatre-goers and will be appreciated by youngsters aged six and under as well as their mothers and friends. It is 45 minutes in length, which is short enough for youngsters to enjoy without having to break concentration for a drink or a toilet break and is fun and very easily accessible by young audiences.

Sally Sunshine's Most Amazing Suitcase runs from June 15 to July 11, Tuesdays to Sundays, at 10h00 in the Durban Botanic Gardens Open Air Theatre which is situated about 50 metres above the Botanic Gardens Tea Room. Audiences should arrive as early as possible because there is a colouring-in competition every day before the performance. Bring crayons or share the crayons provided at the theatre.

Tickets available an hour before each performance for R30 per person, adults or children, and can be advance-booked by phoning the Actors Co-operative on 073 902 8889.
