SHATTERED

Universal Networks International and E1 Entertainment announce major partnership on police drama.

Universal Networks International, the global channels division of NBC Universal, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies, joined with leading independent studio E1 Entertainment today to announce a partnership on the original production, Shattered. The series is a 13 x one-hour police procedural with a twist following an unconventional homicide detective with a chilling secret.

E1 Entertainment has produced and is handling the worldwide distribution rights to the series, in association with Universal Networks International who will handle exclusive Pay TV broadcast rights internationally, where the show will broadcast on Universal Channel and 13th STREET Universal.

The deal follows Universal Networks International’s launch at MIPCOM last year of its five core channel brands and a commitment to further invest in branding and original content as part of its ongoing international growth strategy, with the aim of reaching 100 channels in the next year. Shattered joins an increasing number of original and first-run programming such as Syfy Universal production Haven and cop drama Rookie Blue, ideally suited to Universal Networks International and which supports the new channel propositions.

Filmed in Vancouver, Shattered follows tough, smart homicide detective Ben Sullivan (acclaimed actor Callum Keith Rennie – 24, Flashforward, Battlestar Galactica, Californication) as he races to solve the murder cases that cross his desk daily, with the help of his partner Detective Amy Lynch (Camille Sullivan – Intelligence, Reunion, Da Vinci’s Inquest). Sullivan however, suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder and his career as a successful homicide detective, as well as his personal life, soon face considerable pressure from his secret condition. Sullivan never knows which personality will surface and the effect it will have on him and those around him.

The show boasts an impressive creative team including star Callum Keith Rennie acting as producer alongside executive producer Jeff King (Stargate SG-1, White Collar), supervising producer Ian McDougall (The Best Years) and E1 Entertainment’s Noreen Halpern (Hung, Rookie Blue) as executive producer.

Shattered is soon to be seen on the DStv Universal Channel (formerly Hallmark Channel)
