AUDITIONS FOR CINDERELLA

Playhouse Company to hold auditions for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella on July 29.

The Playhouse Company will hold auditions in anticipation of its 2011 Festive Season, during which has the intention of staging a production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Cinderella. The auditions will pertain to casting the following principal roles: Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Step Mother, the two Step Sisters, and the Fairy Godmother. Those who wish to audition should be proficient in singing and dancing as well as acting.

Aspirants will be required to perform specific songs from the show, including Cinderella’s In My Own Little Corner, Stepsisters’ Lament, the Prince’s Do I Love You? and the Fairy Godmother’s Impossible; It’s possible. They will also be required to prepare in advance and deliver a short dramatic monologue in English.

The auditions will be held in Rehearsal Room 410 in the Playhouse complex in Acutt Street, Durban, on July 29, starting at 12h00. Auditions will only be granted to those who have pre-booked audition slots.
