COMMUNITY ARTS FESTIVAL & AWARDS

The Community Arts Foundation (CAF) a community based non-profit organisation will host an arts festival that will culminate in the awards ceremony in September 2010 in Durban at a venue still to be confirmed.

This event is a joint venture between CAF and Africam Century Television (ACE TV), a non-profit film, television and performing arts training and production organisation. The main objective of the festival is to provide a platform to the marginalised aspiring artists who are nevertheless able to demonstrate high standards of professionalism, but cannot afford or be afforded the opportunity to thrust into the mainstream events and thus receive recognition through awards.

The festival will be called uNomkhubulwane Arts and Culture Festival and Awards (NACFA)and is scheduled for September 21 to 25, 2010. Artists from a variety of arts forms are invited to participate.

Guidelines and application forms can be found on http://nacfa.blogspot.com Early bird registration is July 10 at a fee of R350. There are two further registration dates but the price increases with each one. Further information from Festival Director Thami Mthiyane on 079 068 4706 or email: africamtv@yahoo.com
