M-NET HIGHLIGHTS

Forthcoming premier highlights on M-Net include the returning international series Star Trek on July 25 at 20h05. Directed by JJ Abrams and starring Anton Yelchin, Eric Bana and Zoe Saldana, this is a gripping sequel to the popular series, showing the growing friendship between hothead James T Kirk and half-Vulcan Spock as they enlist in the Starfleet Academy. Then join the USS Enterprise to battle a ruthless villain with delusions of grandeur.

The Reader can be seen on July 26 at 21h30 starring David Kross, Ralph Fiennes and Kate Winslet. Directed in 2008 by Stephen Daldry, the film opens in post-WWII Germany, when teenager Michael Berg becomes ill and is helped home by Hanna, a stranger twice his age. Michael recovers from scarlet fever and seeks out Hanna to thank her. The two are quickly drawn into a passionate but secretive affair.

Soul Men on July 31 at 20h00 stars Samuel L. Jackson, Sharon Leal and Bernie Mac and was directed in 2008 by Malcolm D. Lee. Twenty years after two R&B singers went their separate ways, they reunite to perform at a concert halfway across the country. During the road trip, old animosities flare up between them, which are then exacerbated by the arrival of a fetching young woman - the daughter of a woman they both once loved.
