RIAAD MOOSA BACK IN DURBS!

SA top comedian back with best comedy cure ever!

Riaad Moosa, one of South Africa’s top comedians and TV personalities, is due back in KZN promising comedy cure for winter ills!

South Africa’s best-known doctor of comedy – yes, he does have a medical degree – is doing his rounds again. With plenty of laughs in his bag and a stethoscope that detects anything from the bizarre to the hilarious, he’ll be dealing with winter chills and ills on July 13 in Pietermaritzburg at the Carter High School and in Durban at the Playhouse from July 14 to17.

For the Baracka – the best of Riaad Moosa DVD tour - is the long-awaited autopsy of all his past work and this particular show is uniquely tailored for the KZN market. With a style of his own, Riaad Moosa’s humour is based on how a young Muslim deals with post-911 Islamaphobia. Taboo topics come under the knife and local idiosyncrasies are quickly diagnosed.

In September 2006, he performed his first one-man show Strictly Halaal at the Nelson Mandela Civic Theatre. The run was sold out a week before it started and five extra shows were added. In November 2006, he brought the show to Durban’s International Convention Centre and continued on to Cape Town March 2007. The symptoms were the same.

In 2008, he appeared alongside Marc Lottering and Nik Rabinowitz in the hit variety comedy show 3 Wise Men. His next one-man show, For The Baracka, hit Johannesburg in July 2009 – again selling out. He has appeared in numerous TV and film productions - Laugh Out Loud (SA’s largest stand-up comedy show in TV history), SABC 1’s Pure Monate Show, the DVD for the successful Blacks Only comedy shows and the Anant Singh/John Vlismas produced comedy-collective feature film Outrageous which was released last year.

Performances take place at Carter High School in Pietermaritzburg on July 13 (Tickets R150) and in the Playhouse Drama from July 14 to 17 (Tickets R160). Booking for this appointment to see this comedy specialist is available at Computicket.

More information on 031 312 3699 during office hours. DVD’s – For the Baracka – Riaad Moosa will be available from Ninos outlets. Also look out for Riaad Moosa’s Strictly Halaal which will be launching soon.
