New supper theatre venue to open in Durban North.

On August 7, a group of passionate theatre-makers will realise their dream of creating a live theatre venue in Durban North with the opening of the Stirling Theatre supper theatre venue at the Italian Club.

Earlier efforts to start up the Stirling Theatre with the support of bowlers at the Parkhill Bowling Club in Stirling Crescent came up against complications with the Municipality so these plans had to be jettisoned. However, fuelled by perseverance and determination, the Stirling Theatre has now been relocated to the Italian Club along Fairway near the Beachwood Golf Course.

The first show at Stirling Theatre will be The Bald and The Beautiful with Evan Roberts, Shelley McLean, Liesl Coppin and Melanie Roberts which will run on August 7 and 8 followed by August 21 and 22.

Following this will be the award-winning Brutal Tunes starring Lisa Bobbert, Anthony Stonier and Andrew Warburton and directed by Caroline Smart which will run from September 4 to 5 and again from September 11 to 12.

The show lined up for October will be Danny Fisher and his Angels in Stars in your Eyes which runs from October 1 to 3 and again from October 15 to 17.

Performances on Fridays and Saturdays take place at 20h00 with shows on Sundays at 19h00. The venue will offer The Italian Club’s optional a la carte menu for patrons wishing to eat, and a fully stocked bar at affordable club prices. There is plenty of secure parking. Bookings through Marion on 082 970 0002.
