70 learners appear in five captivating performances at Northwood School.
The “African spirit is hard to kill” is the sentiment wholeheartedly expressed, articulated and celebrated in this year’s Northwood musical – African Dream.
A cast of approximately 70 learners will take to the stage for a total of five captivating performances from August 17. These talented singers, dancers and musicians, with the help of some of the very best South African music, will entertain crowds with an energetic performance celebrating and highlighting the development and tenacity of the African spirit.
The show is written and directed by Lindsay Durell and Russell Guy Scott and boasts a live band. It will feature the hits of artists such as Mango Groove, Mafikizolo, TKZee, Johnny Clegg, Miriam Makeba, Freshly Ground and many other South African favourites. The diversity of music styles will ensure that audiences of all ages will be tapping their feet in delight.
The performance on August 17 is a matinee show for pensioners and primary school learners. The show is free of charge for all pensioners and tickets for primary school learners are just R20. Attendance and/or bookings must be confirmed through the school.
African Dream takes place at Northwood School in Durban North from August 17 to 21. Tickets R50 for “cinema-style seating” shows on August 18 and 19.
