BOESMAN AND LENA

Fugard classic for Stable Theatre.

Athol Fugard’s classic play, Boesman and Lena, is about two coloureds who have been forcefully removed from their locations during the apartheid era, so they travel looking for a place where they can find food work and basically survive. The only thing keeping them sober is the wine!

Boesman is a very abusive husband so the play tackles the issues of women as South Africa celebrates Women’s Month.

Directed by Siza Mthembu, Boesman and Lena offers performances for schools at 10h30 from August 4 to 6 with a performance for the public on August 6 at 19h00. Tickets R30 (R20 students) at door or bookings through Stable Theatre on 031 309 2513.
