Series 1 of MasterChef Australia (72 episodes) is running on weekdays at 18h30 on BBC Lifestyle (channel 180 on DStv). The competition to find the most promising undiscovered culinary talent in Australia starts with auditions, following which the top 50 travel to Sydney where they are put through their paces in a variety of challenges as they compete for a place in the final 20.
The final 20 must learn fast as they are challenged with cooking from a mystery box of ingredients, and taking part in tasks that are completely outside of their comfort zone, including cooking for the army or catering for a wedding. One mistake could mean the end of their dream. Who will prove to the judges that they have what it takes?
