Taking place on September 11, the Indian Ocean Blue Lagoon Festival music concert and comedy show will embrace all of Durban’s cultures – traditional and contemporary - with a special emphasis on the youth. Music genres include Indian, modern, folk, bhangra, kwaito and pantsula. The theme is “fusion” combining different cultures and dance forms into an exciting new South African voice with which can be identified by everyone.
Theatre icons Pranesh Maharaj and Senzo Mthethwa will be on hand to provide some comedy relief. The event will boast a festival-like atmosphere with stalls offering food, craft, jewellery and clothing. The concert takes place at Blue Lagoon, entrance is free and all are welcome. Bring fold up chairs.
