UKZN MUSIC

Coming up at from the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s music school on November 9 is UKZN Popular Voice student, Jason Barber, who will present his final recital at 18h00 in Howard College Theatre. Entrance is free.

There are three forthcoming final recitals at the Centre of Jazz and Popular Music on the UKZN campus.

November 10: Public Recitals - Tyrone Watkins, a fourth year Bachelor of Music student, is performing his final exam recital at 18h00. Tyrone Watkins has been tutored by Marc Poupard since first year and has recently signed a recording contract for a 12-track album with legendary producer, composer Gabi Le Roux and father of Mandoza’s Nkalakatha. The pop, pop-rock, dance, R&B album is set to release middle to late December 2010. Entrance to the exam recital is free and will be featuring several other singers/students. Doors open at 17h30.

November 15: Public Recitals – UKZN jazz students will present their final recitals at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at 17h30. Students performing are Jonathan Judge (saxophone), David Langley (piano), Siza Madlala (piano), Genius Sibeko (piano) and Zoe Masuku (voice).

November 17: Public Recitals – a further group of UKZN jazz students will present their final recitals at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at 17h30. Students performing will be Jessica Moodley (voice) and Mduduzi Madalani (piano).
