(Darragh Morgan and Ralitza Cherneva))
Baroque 2000's very special last concert of the year will be directed by superb Irish violinist Darragh Morgan, former Concertmaster of the Baroque 2000 and a musician in demand throughout the world.
Darragh Morgan is also one of the soloists, alongside Ralitza Cherneva, in Bach's Concerto for two violins in D minor. The other works are Corelli's 8th Concerto Grosso, Per la Notte di Natale, (for Christmas Night), Purcell's Overture in D, and an unusual work by Vivaldi: the Concerto per multi instrumenti (concerto for many instruments: these being violins, two oboes, bassoon and two horns). This concert promises to be an exceptional experience.
The concert takes place on December 19 at 15h00 at Baroque 2000’s usual venue, the Church of the Monastery, Mariannhill. Tickets R80 at the door; there is ample safe parking. Cafe Pronto will be selling coffee before and after the performance. Subscriptions will be available at R720 (with reserved seat) for next year's eight concerts (individual concerts will be R90).
