M-NET STARS

In the Monday Nights slot, M-Net Stars (Channel 105) will screen The Perfect Score on December 6 at 19h30. A group of high school students decide to steal the answers to the SAT exam. Kyle wants to be an architect, but his scores are too low to get into the school of his choice. Matty is heartbroken when he is rejected from the school to which his girlfriend goes. Good girl Anna is pressured by her parents to excel in academics and remain innocent. Desmond is a basketball player who believes the SAT exam is racist. Rounding out the group is gutsy Francesca and lonely Roy.

The Thursday Nights slot presents An American Tail: Fievel Goes West on December 9 at 19h30. In this animated sequel to An American Tale, Fievel Mousekewitz strikes out from not-so-enthralling New York City in a wagon train headed West. Helping propel the departure is a crafty cat named Cat R. Waul who tells our Fievel that out West the cats and mice get along just fine. Once on the trail, Fievel finds that the cat's real plan is mice meat pie out of the little rodents, and Fievel tries his darndest to warn everyone, but to no avail. Starring John Cleese and James Stewart and directed by Phil Nibbelink and Simon Wells. (1991)

In the Friday Nights slot, there’s Cry Baby on December 3 at 19h30. Every parent's worst nightmare becomes a reality for Beth Cappadora and her husband Pat, when their three-year-old son disappears in the middle of a crowded hotel lobby. Now, nine years later, through the efforts of tenacious police officer Candy Bliss, the family is reunited. But the parent's joy turns to emotional torment as they come to terms with the fact that the teenager, Vincent, is a happily adopted boy with no memory of his real parents. Little more than strangers, the Cappadoras must face the reality that tearing the teenager away from his adoptive family and the only home he has ever known might not be best for him. In the Sunday Nights, there’s Lorenzo’s Oil on December 5 at 19h30. Lorenzo’s oil is based on the true story of a family who discovers their five-year-old son is dying of an incurable, mysterious brain disease. His intrepid parents ignore doctors and research the disease to find a cure themselves. Through their devotion and love they turn the medical world upside-down in an effort to save their child. Starring Susan Sarandon, Nick Nolte, Peter Ustinov and Kathleen Wilhoite and directed by George Miller. (1992)
