The 2011 KZNSA Members’ Exhibition
The KZNSA is a member-based organisation that has been in existence for over a century. In this time, it has grown from a non-formal association of artists (who met to discuss, exhibit and market their work) to a public-benefit organisation that today is home to one of the leading contemporary art galleries in South Africa, a shop that stocks important local and national craft and design, and a number of outreach programmes that sees the love for and benefit of arts and culture nurtured with a range of communities, especially young people.
The cornerstone of the KZNSA is its member base from which, the KZNA council and working group committees are selected annually. In appreciation for the support by its constituency, the KZNSA hosts an annual member’s exhibition, presenting members with an opportunity to produce and exhibit artwork according to a theme.
This year, the theme is The Bold And The Beautiful. Expect an eclectic and exciting mix of submissions from some of the province’s leading professional artists, and also work from emerging young talents.
The Bold And The Beautiful opens on January 25 at 18h00 to run until February 19. The KZNSA Gallery is situated at 166 Bulwer Road, Glenwood, in Durban. More information on 031 277 1703, fax 031 201 8051 or cell 082 220 0368 or visit www.kznsagallery.co.za
