Working with experienced director Bets Basson, Barbie Meyer has written and acted in a number of Herman Charles Bosman adaptations. All her offerings have received rave reviews at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown and she is regularly invited to perform at the annual Bosman festival in the Groot Marico. She has also performed her plays at a number of intimate theatres around South Africa, including Riverbend on the South Coast.
She has put together a collage of Bosman's favourite stories and some of his lesser known writings titled Bosman … and Then Some! for a supper theatre performance to take place on January 22 at the Azalea Hall, Village of Happiness, in Margate.
