HLANOPANI NXASANE

Hlanopani Nxasane was one of nine young South African artists who were celebrated at Cartoon Network’s Animation Generation competition winner’s ceremony at Soccer City in Johannesburg in October last year.

Grabbing third prize in the six to eight-year-old category of competition, the young Durban Primary pupil was one of 6,000 entries from across South Africa. His striking piece - which took the theme “draw your favourite Cartoon Network characters, shooting winning goals, cheering in the stands and tackling their opponents” - saw his cartoon characters appear inside two colourful soccer balls.
