THE INBETWEENERS

Starting on January 6 on BBC Entertainment on DStv, The Inbetweeners is the multi-award winning sitcom that has taken the UK by storm by showing the more realistic side of British teenage life, namely its accurate portrayal of adolescence: the greatest rite of passage of them all. A period of a few years that seem to mostly comprise of; gross embarrassment, social anxiety, greasy faces, and ill-judged sexual encounters.

It’s an area ripe for comic potential and The Inbetweeners will remind those who’ve long since escaped the quagmire of puberty and entertain the ones who are still battling through its procession of school discos, driving lessons and embarrassing parents.

Since launching in 2008, The Inbetweeners has delighted audiences and critics alike. The sitcom about four teenage boys navigating their raging hormones in Britain’s suburbia has won seven awards so far, including the prestigious Rose d’Or 2010 for Best Situation Comedy, The BAFTA Audience Award 2010 (the only award voted for by the public), the NME’s Best TV Show 2010, and Best TV Comedy and Best Male Comedy Newcomer 2010 for cast member Simon Bird at the British Comedy Awards.

The series stars Simon Bird; Joe Thomas; James Buckley, and Blake Harrison
