ABSA FUGARD FESTIVAL APPLICATIONS

The 2011 Absa Fugard Festival will be held from September 23 to 26, 2011, and the organizers are now awaiting applications.

Artists who want to be part of the 2011 Festival have until March 15, 2011, to submit their applications.

The annual Festival held in Nieu Bethesda over the heritage weekend is the biggest Fugard celebration in the world and aims not only to celebrate Fugard’s work and contributions to South Africa but also to bring art to the people and invest in our community and our heritage.

The organizers hope to attract more Fugard plays in 2011 and will also consider the work of other playwrights. The festival is not only about theatre, but also offers a wide selection of music and visual art and caters for all tastes and likes.
