AUDITIONS: YOUNG PERFORMERS PROJECT

The Performing Arts Network of South Africa (KZN) is pleased to announce that the Rainbow Young Performers Project for 2011 is going to be Seussical and will be directed by award-winning KickstArt director, Steven Stead.

The production will include many regulars from the legendary KickstArt team including Greg King who will design the show and Shelley McLean who will be the vocal coach. Seussical will require a cast of 30 to 35 musical theatre performers of both sexes and all races. Singing and dancing is of utmost importance as this is a sung-through show with little to no dialogue.

Auditions will be held on April 30 and May 1 in the Durban High School (DHS) hall. Registration for the auditions will be between 09h00 and 10h00. Prospective auditionees must come to the auditions in comfortable clothing suitable for dance auditions and they must be prepared to stay for the whole day and even to be called back the following day. They also need to arrange their own refreshments during the course of the day.

NB: It is very important that all prospective performers arrive in time for the registration as the first part of the audition will be learning both the audition song and the dance steps. Latecomers may be disqualified.

Rehearsals will commence from May 7. Incumbents must be available every weekend should they be required for rehearsals from this date and during the holidays until the opening night.
