The Music Department at Durban High School (DHS) will present a “down-memory-lane” musical romp into the British music of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Those days before “Rap”, “Hip Hop” and “House” dominated the airwaves; those days when the British “sound” was described as the “British invasion” in the American press; those days when the British look was the only-way-to-dress look; the days of Twiggy, Mary Quant, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, the Kinks, the Animals, the Troggs, the Cream, Deep Purple, the Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Queen and Led Zeppelin.
Barnyard-style table bookings will be available for BYO picnic suppers. There will also be an abundance of theatre-style seating. The Horse Fly Café will be open before the show and during the interval for the purchasing of drinks and snacks.
The Best of British, directed by Patrick Collyer and featuring an extremely talented cast of some 30 musicians and singers, will be staged in the D C Thompson Hall at Durban High School from April 18 to 20 nightly at 19h00.
Tickets R40. Booking is expected to be brisk – book early through Karen Krause on 031 277 1500.
