CHRIS CHAMELEON IN THE GARDENS

Old Mutual welcomes Chris Chameleon to the Durban Botanic Gardens for his debut performance on April 10 in the 2011 Old Mutual Music at the Lake Concert series, supported by Durban’s No 1 Radio Station East Coast Radio. Local group Catlike Thieves will open the concert at 14h30.

Chris Chameleon is being hailed as a musical phenomenon on the South African music front and overseas. His exceptional four-octave voice and dynamic stage personality have won him rave reviews and a total of 20 impressive awards over the past five years, including two South African Music Awards (SAMAs) and a Medal of Honour from the SA Academy of Science and Arts.

Kyk Hoe Lyk Ons Nou won the SAMA for Best Afrikaans Contemporary Album in 2010. In the same year Chris also recorded and released a new Boo album titled The Three of Us.

The concert offers his Durban fans an opportunity to support another of South Africa’s great musicians while enjoying a picnic in the beautiful lake setting in the Botanic Gardens. Gates open at 12h30. Tickets R100 at the gate (R20 children 6 to 12).

Kids Zone offer children’s entertainment from 13h30 until 16h30 giving parents a chance to relax and enjoy the music. The Gardens is the perfect setting for a picnic outing with the whole family. Secure parking is available at the Visitors Complex and on the Munies Hockey Field off lower John Zikhale (Sydenham) Road.
