LENTIL EATERS AT RED DOOR

The Maritzburg Musicians Club gathering at the Red Door this evening (Tuesday, April 5) sees a performance by the amazing Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters.

Preparing for their 'long service award' of being the feature artists at this year's 22nd Splashy Fen and celebrating 20 years of making music together, this bunch of artists need no introduction to PMB audiences. Described as a 'collective multiple personality disorder' they are the best antidote for the blues (or greens). Harmonic, satirical, folky – what shines through is their love of music. They will be bringing some of their anticipated Splashy performance.

Collectively or individually they share an association with Splashy Fen that spans all of its 22 years either among the very first performers; stage hands and sound mixers in the early years; or most frequently performing as The Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters. Whether having fun with their ever-changing stage shows - or poking fun at everyone else while busking on the rocks - the Hairies have unequivocally established their ‘legendary’ status at this magnificent musical feast.

Supporting them will be Terence Hatting who may be remembered as the guitarist for Deja-Vu, who won the battle of the bands in 2003. Whilst studying at Rhodes, Terence played with the band Thus Far – a popular band that shared stages with bands such as The Parlotones.

A reminder, that there are only two more opportunities at Red Door to get their exclusive offer of Splashy Fen tickets at R400 – tonight and April 19.

The Red Door is in Quarry Rd, off Victoria Road, in Pietermaritzburg. Car guards on duty. More information from Roger O’Neill on 083 230 6562
