UKZN LUNCH-HOUR MUSIC

The Music School of the University of KwaZulu-Natal presents regular lunch-hour concerts in Howard College during semesters.

The lunch-hour concert on April 4 presents an exciting programme of contemporary chamber music compiled by David Plylar, the Project Coordinator for New Music with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. Contemporary pieces by Moerane/Blake, Hendrik Hofmeyer, Plylar and Hannah Lash will be performed by David Plylar (piano), Allison Lowell (oboe), David Cohen (clarinet), Violeta Osorhean and David Snaith (viola).

On April 6, the School of Music's African Music and Dance ensemble presents a concert entitled The Pride of Identity which will be choreographed by members of the final year African Music and Dance programme. The concert includes Umaskandi and kwela music, with guitar, percussion and dance.
