NEA YOUNG PERFORMER AWARDS

Closing date for 2011 programme closes on May 31.

The activities of the National Eisteddfod Academy, funded by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF), provide various opportunities where young performers can develop and showcase their talents across the full spectrum of artistic and cultural diversity. The NEA Young Performer Awards project has been gaining in prestige annually since it was established in 2004 to provide a single prestigious platform for young performers in music, dance and drama.

The National Eisteddfod Academy (NEA) is a non-profit organisation that creates opportunities for youth development in the arts. This is achieved through no-limitation participation in eisteddfod and related events where young performers are exposed to the magic of the performing arts. The funding received from the Lotto Trust enables the NEA to broaden participation in eisteddfod activities by providing arts training to teachers from previously disadvantaged communities and to identify and expose talented learners from these communities through the DiKonokono Festival developmental project of the NEA.
