SKETCH WARZ

A Live Art Battle takes place today as part of Green Fest, taking place at 84 Dan Pienaar Road, (Corner Dan Pienaar and Baines Road), in Glenwood.

Some 11 artists will to compete for cash prizes and giveaways on the spot. Artists include Sikad ALT; Gasak; Dusty Rich; Doc; Mookie; Nivesh; Billy Pineapples; Alastair Laird, and Sinead Turnham. First prize R750 with second and third at R450 and R350 including a free T-shirt.

Eden College’s art room wall-space is where it’s all at. Each artist is designated a space approximately 1.8m high x 1.4m in width. Markers and black paint with one spot colour of the artist’s choice – no cans allowed.

Judging will be decided by way of crowd participation. Vote anonymously by dropping the name of your favourite artist at the voting station.

Artists begin at 10h00 and finish at 14h00. Voting will be open from 12h00 to 14h30 followed the vote count with the announcement of the winners and prizegiving taking place at 15h00. More information about the Sketch Warz battle from Warren on 076 840 5096.

Other attractions throughout the day include free beer, jacket and body painting; flea market, talks and games. There will be free performances as well as a drum circle and demonstrations.
