DANCE UMBRELLA 2012

Entries are now open for Dance Umbrella 2012 - the 24th platform for new Contemporary Dance and Choreography.

Dance Umbrella 2012 is scheduled to run from February 17 to March 4, 2012. For 17 days, Johannesburg will be engulfed by contemporary dance. The venues will include The Market Theatre, The Dance Factory, the Goethe on Main and UJ Arts Centre and the new theatre in Soweto.

In 2012, the Dance Umbrella will feature only commissioned work and international companies/ collaborations on the Main programme. The Stepping Stones programme will therefore feature other entries and will include community, youth groups, young artists and hopefully new innovative concepts on all levels. There is also an opportunity to apply for a commissioning fee of R30,000.
