Friends of Music will host a farewell concert to much-loved soprano Bronwen Forbay who is returning to the US after lecturing for a period in Durban at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Opera School and Choral Academy.
Her programme will include Afrikaans Art Songs by Pescod, A Van Wyk and S. Le Roux Marais as well as French Art Songs by Liszt, Poulenc and Delibes. She will also perform songs by Rossini, Puccini, Glitter and Be Gay from Candide by L Bernstein as well as numbers from Die Fledermaus by J Strauss. She will be accompanied by Christopher Duigan.
In the Prelude Performer slot for the evening, there will be an acappella group from the Northlands Girls High School under the directorship of Jenny Bonsignore.
The concert will be held on June 14 at 19h45 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort Road, Durban. Booking is at Computicket. There is safe parking.
