“The fabulous Jaspar Lepak graces the stage once again after a long dry spell on the bluestockings stage,” says Narene from Blue Stockings. “This deeply talented American singer storyteller has been spreading her magik across the country in recent months and comes to share with us once again in the intimacy of the bluestockings enclave, this time armed with even more firepower as the likes of Richard Haslop and her very own visiting harmonies singer Rachel Van Scoy. The last time Jaspar sang to us, she packed out the venue and immediately captivated everyone in a perfect evening of beautifully crafted lyric and sound.

“Jaspar is a rare musical gem,” she continues, “blissfully unaware of the power she exercises in embracing a whole room full of people at the same time and singing to their hearts, extending all the ageless warmth and joy that her stories and songs are infused with.”

On a garden stage surrounded by fairy lights and stars, Blue Stockings presents folk/country songstress Jaspar Lepak for an unforgettable evening of live, original music. Special guest Rachel Van Scoy, who sings harmonies on Jaspar’s most recent CDs, will be in town for the evening, and along with Rachel’s dazzling voice, Kale Lepak on accordion, Bryan Eaton on banjo, and Richard Haslop on dobro and mandolin, this Minnesotan’s boot-tapping, soul-stirring storytelling will draw your heart out onto your sleeve and make you want to keep it there.

The performance takes place at Blue Stockings, Kloof, on June 17 at 19h00 for 19h30. Entrance R60. A vegetarian meal is available for R50 by pre-order only. Booking is essential. Call Narene @ 083 659 3628.
