WHITE MOUNTAIN 2011

Early Bird tickets now on sale at Computicket

Early Bird tickets for White Mountain 2011 are now on sale at Computicket for R400, which includes camping for the entire festival from September 29 to October 2.

NB: This offer is valid until the end of June only and tickets are limited. From July 1, advance tickets will cost R500 – so get in early and save!

The Early Bird promotion also applies to tickets for children aged 4 to 11, which will cost R50 until the end of June and R100 thereafter. Children under four get in free.

KwaZulu-Natal’s only acoustic music festival, White Mountain is known for its relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, plentiful amenities and beautiful surroundings. A must for acoustic music lovers, the annual White Mountain Festival is held near Giant’s Castle in the beautiful Central Drakensberg region – only 34km from Estcourt on tarred roads, 200km from Durban and roughly 430km from Johannesburg on tarred roads. It makes for the ideal weekend getaway and also provides easy access to a number of nearby tourist attractions, including the Midlands Meander.

Coinciding with Heritage Day and the start of the school holidays, the festival offers acoustic performances by well-known and up-and-coming South African artists, a choice of camping, caravanning and chalet accommodation, plus outdoor activities for the whole family.

Attractions include hiking, boating and bass fishing, arts and crafts, a beer market, assorted food stalls and fun kids’ entertainment. For the more adventurous, there’s abseiling down a 45m cliff face or a fuffi slide across a nearby 100m-wide gorge, with helicopter flips also available if the weather permits. Alternatively you can simply relax outdoors and soak up the peaceful beauty of one of the most idyllic spots in the Berg.
