AGENT SNOET EN DIE HONDELEWE

Agent Snoet en die Hondelewe, an action musical loosely based on the pioneering Afrikaans comic strip series by Francois Bloemhof and Alistair Ackermann, will be on stage at Port Natal School in Durban at the end of July.

The production showcases some of the biggest names in South Africa's entertainment industry with the talented actress and director Lizz Meiring in the director’s chair. The hilarious text and lyrics were created especially for the stage by the acclaimed playwright Schalk Schoombie, and the music is the result of Afrikaans rock musician Herman van den Berg's flair and talent. Kosie Smit is responsible for the modern set design and lighting, with Johan Hendriksz as the technical manager.

Agent Snoet en die Hondelewe is aimed at the whole family. Says executive producer Nita Cronjé of the ATKV: "Agent Snoet is a modern spy story created for the whole family to enjoy together. We also wanted to give schools something unique in Afrikaans to perform instead of automatically going for American musicals like Grease.”

Francois Bloemhof's famous comic strip character, Agent Snoet, is an Afrikaans James Bond with a twist. Expect a musical with brave heroes, crooks and beautiful girls, with more than enough drama, confusion and intrigue to keep you on the edge of your seat. Add some hilarious humour, exciting dance acts and stunning Afrikaans rock music, and the show promises an unforgettable theatre experience!

Agent Snoet en die Hondelewe runs at Port Natal School, Dirk Uys Street, Umbilo, on July 26 and 27 at 10h30 and 19h00. Booking is at Computicket. More information from Roberto Cameron on 082 783 6024 or email: admin@kolligfees.co.za or visit www.kolligfees.co.za
