JOHNNY BE GOOD

(Gary McKenzie, John Didlick and Grant Bell)

Durban's longest running and most popular comedy cabaret group the Gee Jays - Gary McKenzie, John Didlick and Grant Bell - are back with a rock and roll party that promises to “blow your socks off”!

Johnny Be Good played to packed housed in 2005, the year the Heritage Theatre opened. The show features a carefully chosen mix of close harmony 50s swing and rock and roll favourites from the legends from the rock ’n roll era: Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, The Platters, Bobby Darren, Little Richard and more.

The song line up includes Rock Around The Clock, Shake Rattle and Roll, Summertime Blues, The Great Pretender, Oh Boy, Lucille, Great Balls Of Fire, At The Hop and even songs from the British invasion onto the rock ‘n roll scene, The Young Ones, Twist and Shout and Rock ’n Roll Music.

Johnny Be Good also takes a look at how rock ’n roll came about and how it influenced some of the greatest musicians of modern times. Expect the usual zany antics and cheeky one-liners in the show as well as a bit of a twist... “like we did last summer”. The show is ably backed by the Heritage Theatre showband comprising Dawn Selby, Barry Thomson, Mali Sewell and Jason Andrew

Johnny Be Good runs from July 18 to August 14. Tickets R190 pp Wednesday to Saturdays at 19h00 or R165 pp Tuesdays nights and Sundays 15 at 12h30 include the show and a delicious two-course meal. Tickets R100 for the show only. Bookings on 031 7654197 or online at www.heritagetheatre.co.za
