MOSHITO 2011 CALL

Calls for films, papers and live performers

Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition is putting out a call for public submissions in three key areas of the 2011 event.

Africa’s leading music industry event has opened up the submissions for its mini-film music-themed festival, for papers to be presented at the conference and for acts wanting to be considered for the high-profile Moshito 2011 live showcases.

This year, the emphasis is on the digital space – in South Africa, across the continent and internationally – and organisers are calling for papers in this area of the music business. However, as in previous years, the issues of social security, entrepreneurship, the live industry - as well as music industry basics - are also to be covered and paper submissions on these topics are also welcome.

Producers and directors can submit their films for inclusion in the music-themed film festival. Features, documentaries and short films will all be considered for inclusion in the 2011 event.

Finally, acts wanting to be considered for Moshito’s popular live music showcases (both on site and on the fringe of the festival) are also invited to submit demos, accompanied by profiles. Submissions are encouraged to be of high quality and original.

Moshito 2011 takes place from August 31 to September 2 at The Sci Bona Discovery Centre in Johannesburg’s Newtown precinct.

Submissions can be made to showcases@moshito.co.za or delivered to the Moshito office at 10 Henry Nxumalo Street, Newtown. Papers can be sent to info@moshito.co.za Films delivered to the Moshito office at 10 Henry Nxumalo Street, Newtown
