Picture a concert featuring Freddie Mercury, Bon Jovi, Meatloaf, Billy Joel, Pink and Cher - all on one stage, in one show, singing #1 hits from the last four decades of pop music. These artists have dominated the charts to such a degree and made such an impact on the music industry that they decided to stage a special tribute!
The Barnyard has become synonymous with their send-offs, to which last year’s hit show The Big Five bore testimony and this year they’re going one bigger and better with this sequel which features an 11-piece cast.
Imagine Meatloaf challenging the vocal ability of Freddie, who in turn has to compete with Bon Jovi. Then there is the power and beauty of Pink, the soulfulness of Billy, and let’s not forget the flamboyance and decadence of Cher! Six of the Best is about showmanship and the charisma and the music that all comes together in one big concert.
The Barnyard Theatres have brought together some of their finest performers to impersonate these music icons who are played by Darren Vercuil as Freddie Mercury, Tian Rautenbach as Meatloaf, James Dobson as Billy Joel, Ray Oberholzer as Jon Bon Jovi, Yvette Barnard as Pink and Lizaan Vermeulen as Cher.
