WINTER WOOLLIES

The next Midlands Arts & Crafts Society (MACS) Open Day will take place in Pietermaritzburg on July 23.

Titled Winter Woollies, it will highlight what you can do with wool - mainly hand-dyed and hand-spun. Anyone who knits, crochets or spins is welcome to join up with like-minded creative souls at MACS, bringing their needles, hooks, knitting looms or spinning wheels for a fun day making something warm, beautiful and necessary in this cold spell.

MACS is a registered Non-Profit Organisation whose aims are to provide greater opportunities for artists, to develop their skills and broaden their experience, to maintain a high standard of artistic endeavour, to provide interaction between artists and crafts people of different disciplines, including the performing arts and to stimulate greater public awareness and appreciation of, and participation in, the arts.

Winter Woollies will be open from 08h00 to 14h00. Refreshments will be available during the day and visitors will be able to browse around a display of inspiring yarns and finished items. MACS is situated in Pietermaritzburg at 23 Haldane Road (parking from 23 Ritchie Road entrance, Pelham). More information from Joy at 033 386 6500.
