CONTEMPORARY PIANO MEDITATIONS

Christopher Duigan plays a beautiful selection of modern piano music by popular piano composers in a programme titled Contemporary Piano Meditations.

With easygoing style, the gentle sounds of an amplified grand piano create a unique blend of nuances, music which has won popular acclaim in recent years. This includes Michael Nyman's classic The Piano soundtrack, Yann Tiersen’s music from the film Amelie, the UK Classic FM chart-topping L’onde and other piano music by Ludovico Einaudi and lyrical offerings from South African composer Richard Guinness.

Entrance to Monday lunch-hour concerts is free.

The concert takes place on August 8 in Howard College Theatre at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. More information from Fiona Tozer on 031 260 3353 or email: tozer@ukzn.ac.za
